The purpose of this annual election is to elect a president for a one-year term and to elect three council member positions for two-year terms.

Thursday, April 24, 2025 and the polls will be open from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

Qualified voters of this election are contained under Article II and Article IV of the Constitution and is as follows:

1. Any adult member (as stated in Article V, “Adult means a person who is 21 years of age or over.”) of the Village shall have the right to vote.
2. Persons whose name appeared on the roll of those entitled to vote on the adoption of the Constitution and Bylaws, consisting of residents of this Village, as provided in Article IV, Section 2 of the Bylaws.
3. All children, both of whose parents or one of whose parents are enrolled members of the Village, at the time of the adoption of the Constitution or of the birth of the children.
4. All other persons of Indian blood who are adopted by the Council.
5. All members and their minor children who cease to make a permanent home in the Village shall cease to be members of the Village until they resume their residence. 

Absentee ballots are available in person at the Saxman I.R.A. Council Tribal Office from Monday, April 8, through Wednesday, April 23, 2025. The applicant must show the reason for voting absentee. All absentee ballots must be received before the polls are closed at 8:00 PM on Thursday April 24, 2025. 

Absentee ballots received after this deadline will be declared invalid. 

The Declaration of Candidacy forms are available at the Saxman I.R.A. Tribal Council Office from March 1 through April 14, 2025. Anyone interested in filing candidacy must complete the form and return it to the Saxman I.R.A. Tribal Office no later than 12:00 PM on April 14, 2025. 

The candidacy form requires the candidate to sign and a tribal staff person to attest to it’s submission noting the date and time.
